Debi Nova sings for SIFAIS’s 15th anniversary
The Costa Rican singer-songwriter was one of the voices of the benefit concert celebrating the SIFAIS Foundation’s 15th anniversary at Parque Viva.
Not every concert is just a concert. The one celebrating the SIFAIS Foundation’s 15th anniversary at Parque Viva’s Anfiteatro Imperial was, above all, a community celebration, and Debi Nova was one of its stars.
The Costa Rican singer-songwriter shared the stage with Gandhi, Malpaís and the band Balance, and with more than 150 musicians from the SIFAIS Orchestra: children, teens and adults, current and former students of the foundation’s programs in La Carpio and La Guaracha in Heredia. Proceeds went to strengthen its social programs in vulnerable communities across the country.
In a sparkling dress and with a smile that never left her face, Debi Nova moved between emotion and complicity with the audience, at times with the youth orchestra behind her. It was one of those performances where you can tell the artist is enjoying it too.
Behind the stage there was another story just as big: according to the foundation, the event was made possible by donated space, sound, lights, screens and food, and the artists waived their royalties for the cause. A night made by many people, for many people.
